Combining Know-how and Technology
Alfacam not only devotes itself to recording high-quality images and sound but it also has all the know-how and technology required to edit your material.
Alfacam uses only the best editing material. For non-linear editing, Alfacam has an Avid DS Nitris, which allows complex editing and high-end colour grading. For basic editing Sony XPRIs are being used. These edits are able to work in both Standard Definition and HD.
Alfacam also has a linear edit suite equipped for editing in High Definition. In this edit up to five different sources can be simultaneously displayed alongside the record machine thus enabling easy and efficient multicamera editing.
Each edit can work with different tape formats:
- HD: D5, HDCAM, DVCpro HD, HDcam SR;
- SD: Digibeta, DVC pro, Beta SP
Tapes can be copied to almost any format.

The Avid DS Nitris system offers multistream, 10-bit uncompressed HD, Avid DNxHD, and SD finishing and mastering as well as HD-RGB and 2K/4K file-based editing with real-time playback up to 2K. It combines advanced creative and finishing software with high-performance Avid Nitris digital non-linear accelerator hardware for guaranteed real-time editing and effects. Create, edit, and master TV programmes, films, and commercials -even theatrical releases- with the resolution-independent Avid DS Nitris system.
